This program is about performers who risk their lives for their art. Their glory is their love of their craft and it comes from deep within them. You can see it in their faces; you can hear it in the timbre and tone of their voice. “What brought them to Gravity Works, what they were like as kids, how they over-came the pull of conventionality, and how they continue in an existence that provides little in creature comforts” These are the questions that will be addressed in their individual stories. Stories told by a couple of the performers in their own words. Stories that reach back into their past to tell of the sacrifices, struggles and inspiration that gives them the courage today to follow their own paths of bliss. The performers in the Gravity Works come from all walks of life; some are in their early 20’s, some are in their early 50’s; some are native Indians from Mexico and some are Caucasians from America, Canada and Europe. From their different stories will emerge a profile of courage as these artists struggle to maintain and follow their chosen life. The docudrama will unfold underneath the big top. For the first time ever, Gravity Works’ will be performing under a circus tent and premiering its newest show in the town of San Miguel with its old world Jardin and Cathedral. Gravity Works’ beautiful performance and dramatic practice footage will be edited together with the personal stories of a few individual performers. |
